Roger N. Carson, 77, parted from his earthly existence to meet our heavenly father, September 19, 2008. He was a resident of Greenwood.

He was born October 5, 1930 in Indianapolis to Tommy and Ava (Eastham) Carson. He graduated from Greenwood High School (1948), and Hanover College (1952), where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.

Roger was a U.S. Army veteran.

He married Myra Mashkovskaya on May 25, 1957 in Greenwood. She preceded him in death November 13, 2001. He will be greatly missed by his children and grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Philip Carson and Norman Carson, both of Greenwood; three daughters, Millie Carson of Indianapolis, Cynthia (Jeff) Richards and Nina Cutrell, both of Greenwood; step children, Frank (Doreen) Lowery, and Dorothy (Marshall) Vaught; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren, Michelle Carson, Nicole Richards, Nathan Carson, Whitney Richards, Kayla Carson, Emily Carson, J.R. Cutrell, Michaela Carson, Kyle Carson, Alexandria Walker and Cecilia Carson.

Roger was an analytical chemist for 40 years at Reilly Tar & Chemical Industries, retiring in 1995.

He sought spiritual council from Living Waters Ministry.

Roger lived his life as a proud father and grandfather. He delighted in the simple things in life like a beautiful day, a perfect breeze, or seeing an eagle fly. He will lovingly be missed by his family and friends.

Calling will take place from 5-9 PM, Monday at Wilson St.Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main Street.

Pastor John Sosna will officiate a funeral service at 10AM, Tuesday, September 23, 2008, at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery.
