Mrs. Ruby Ruth Billings, age 81, of Happy Corner Road, Traphill died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at her home.

Funeral services will be held Friday 2:00 PM, July 4, 2008 at Christian Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Adams, the Rev. Ivan Dameron, the Rev. E. R. Wiles and the Rev. Tony White officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Billings was born June 11, 1927 in Wilkes County to Romulus and Kate Billings. She married Hurley Billings on June 12, 1948. Mrs. Billings was a member of Christian Home Baptist Church.

Three sisters, Jettie Carey, Rachel Absher, Pearl Morrell; two brothers, Chester Billings and Lester Billings preceded her in death.

She is survived by: her husband, Hurley Hayes Billings of the home; one daughter, Cathy Richardson and husband, Dwayne of Traphill; three sons, Wristal Billings and wife, Cheryl of Thurmond, Steve Billings and wife, Brenda, Randy Billings all of Traphill; two sisters, Alma Healy and husband, Tom of New Jersey, Hazel Freeman and husband, Bud of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Tyra Billings and wife, Carrie, Jim Billings all of Traphill; four sisters-in-law, Arkie Pardue of Traphill, Dorothy Holcomb of Belews Creek, Reo McBride and husband, Tyre of Winston-Salem, Ella Byrd and husband, John of Lexington; three brothers-in-law, Benny Billings and wife, Linda of Traphill, Elmer Billings and wife, Janice of Winston-Salem, Everett "Buck" Billings and wife, Jan of Winston-Salem; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, four great, great-grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 until 8.
