Scott Starke, 50, of Kingsport, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at his home.
He was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and graduated from McGavock High School in Nashville, TN. Scott then moved to Texas where he did construction work most of his life. The last several years he worked on an oil rig.
Preceding him in death were his brother, Brent Starke; his grandparents, Joe and Naomi Starke, Leroy and Ardis Cook; and a cousin, Greg Starke.
Surviving are two daughters, Sara Starke and Lisa Starke, both of Nashville; his parents, Duane and Carol Starke of Kingsport; a sister, Kim Starke Hamilton and husband Bill of Kingsport; a niece, Ashley Ball and husband Chris of Kingsport; a nephew, Brett Hamilton of Kingsport; aunts, Aloris Starke of Minnesota, Virginia Velie of Texas; and uncles, Ronald Starke and wife Betty of Minnesota, and Keith Cook of Minnesota.
A private graveside service will be conducted at East Lawn Memorial Park.
A memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at West Colonial Hills Baptist Church with Pastor West Rankin and Duane Starke officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service at the church.
