Millie Scaman Loucks, daughter of Sarah wrote: Mother was very lovely to look at. She had brown eyes & natural curly hair, was beautiful singer & reader. She lived like her father before her by the Bible & prayer evenings & grace at each meal. We never missed going to church and mother was the superintendent of the Sunday school for over 20 years. She did all the sewing and mending for the family. She made dresses and overalls for 7 boys and father besides sewing dresses & all the things for 7 girls and herself. Mother was a wonderful manager. She raised about 500 chickens each year, with ducks & turkeys. Mother had flowers everywhere, big beds on the south side of the home & plants in the house and garden. People coming by from White, South Dakota to Lake Hendricks would often stop by to look at the flowers & mother would have tea & cookies. By the year 1909 most of the family were married & moved to N.Dakota. So mother and father sold their farm & bought land in Divide County, ND about 10 miles SW of Noonan. I think the greatest heritage one can leave their children is to know that their parents loved each other. Father told me that when he was in his late eighties that he could find no faults in my mother, they had lived together 56 years. Albert and Sarah were married Oct.3,1869 at Lindsey, Ontario, Canada. The names of their children are: Darcy, Sylvester, William, Albert, Easton, Maude, Alberta, Ethel Alice, Sarah, Lula, Millie, Harrison, John, Nettie.(bio added by aritha buss)
