William White was a casualty of the 1855-56 Puget Sound Treaty War. He was attacked by Indians near Fort Eaton [GPS 46.985716,-122.738259] while he and his family were returning to their homestead. His death may have prompted Daniel and Ann Elizabeth (Bigelow) to found Forest Cemetery.
