David Banning Of Boylston Dies; Rites Wednesday

David Jasper Banning, 83, a retired farmer and resident of the Boylston community, died Saturday at Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Boylston Baptist Church with the Rev. Grady Hamby officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with grandsons as pallbearers. He will remain at Thomas Shepherd Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Wednesday and then lie in state at the church.
Mr. Banning was a native of this county and son of the late Thomas and Mary Ann Allen Banning. He was a charter member of the Boylston Church which he had served as Deacon for more than 50 years.
Surviving are the widow, the former Miss Lillie Belle Cox; six daughters, Mrs. Walter Perkins of Brevard, Mrs. David Holliday of Blantyre, Mrs. Foy Holden of Hickory, Mrs. Frisco Sentell of Hickory, Mrs. Otis O'Neal of Burlington and Mrs. Donald Jackson of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sons, Jones of Hendersonville, the Rev. Ralph of Boyleston and Owen Banning of Brevard; and 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
