Magna-Dorothy Schmid Gilgen 55, devoted wife of Karl T. Gilgen, of 8651 Florence Drive, passed away on August 1, 1982 of complications following surgery. Born on July 14, 1927 in Bern, Bear Lake County, Idaho to Robert and Nellie Parker Schmid. Married Karl T. Gilgen on July 6, 1946 in Bern, Idaho. Member LDS Church. Devoted friend to all she knew. She had been employed at the Tooele Army Depot for the past 28 years. Survivors: Husband, son and daughter, Hoby K. West Valley City; Holly Kay Magna; stepsons, Larry D., Fountain Green; James, Sandy; one grandchild; 21 step-grandchildren; eight great-step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Anna L. Vigos, Robert, Mrs. Zenna M. Bridges, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Alice Gortcinsky, Ogden; David, Bountiful; Ivens T., Bern, Idaho; Mrs. Connie Jensen, Paris, Idaho; Marvin P., Taylorsville; Mrs. Emma Lou Skinner, Dingle, Idaho, Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Julia. Funeral services, Wednesday, 11 a.m., Magna Stake Center 3084 South 8400 West. Friends may call at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, magna, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and; Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment in the Valley View Memorial Park."
