Husband of Hannah Cochran Anderson.

Father of William Irwin, Jesse McClelland, Mary Louise, Frank Oscar, Ella Jane, Harry Leon, and Anna Bessie Anderson.

Jesse was an engineer at Diamond State Iron Mills. He was a member of the Asbury ME Church.

He served for 3 years and 9 months as a Private in Purnell's Legion, Maryland Infantry, Co.'s A & E, Union Army during the Civil War. During the war he was wounded twice. First during the Battle of Antietam on Sep. 17, 1862 & second during the Battle of Cold Harbor, VA. on Jun. 3, 1864.

Jesse was a member of the DuPont Post No. 2 Grand Army of the Repbulic.

He was a man of affable temperament and ideals, highly regarded by all who knew him.
