Mrs. Alice Owen

Funeral Services were held at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon from Hickory Grove Baptist Church for Mrs Alice Owen, 63, who died at the family home in Star City, at 2 a.m. yesterday after a six weeks illness.

Services were conducted by the Rev. W. E. Wiles, pastor of the Baptist church at Star City and burial was in Hickory Grove Cemetery in charge of Holderness-South Mortuary.

Mrs. Owen was born in Cornerville, Lincoln county and has spent her entire life in that section where she had a wide circle of relatives and friends. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church, having joined in early childhood.

Surving her are two sons, Horace of Star City, and Earl, of Wabbasska; two daughters, Mrs. Ora Smith, of South Carolina adm Mrs. Clarece Crist of Parsons, Kansas; a brother, Luther Bailey of Wynwood, Okla; five sisters, Mrs. Rosie Nodan, of Ardmore, Okla, Mrs. Sallie Green, of Star City, Mrs. Laury Conner of South Carolina; Mrs. Willie Green and Mrs. A. A. Lassell of Cornerville, two grandchildren and a number of other relatives.

Active pallbearers were: Emery Yarbrough, Glenn Jacks, Curtis Green, Carl McDaniel, Clarence Green, and Howard Green.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Mrs. Ellen Johnson, Mrs. Virgil Haygood, Mrs. Jess Cogbill, Mrs. Rand Chambliss, Mrs. E. L. Vick, Mrs. Holland Conner, and Mrs. Virgie Fish, all intimate friends of the late Mrs. Owen.
