Funeral services for former Globite John Laman, 63, who
died August 17th at University Medical Center in Tucson
were held Sunday in the Caldwell Chapel by the River
in Clifton.

The American Legion Lloyd C. Hill Post #28 conducted
graveside services at Duncan Cemetery.

Born in Lakewood, New Mexico, Mr. Laman came to
Globe in 1918 and moved to Duncan in 1935 where
he was employed as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic
for Phelps Dodge Corporation for 26 years.

Mr. Laman was a World War II veteran. A member of the
American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. The
Greenlee County Sheriff's Posse and the Greenlee
County Cattle Growers Association.

Survivors include a brother, Herbert of Phoenix. Five
sisters, Mrs. Annabelle Bull of Morenci, Mrs. Edith
Eakin of Safford, Mrs. Ruth Murdock of Oracle and
Mrs. Mae Eakin of Black River and one out of state
