She was born in Detroit May 24, 1922 to the late August and Leah Bishoff.
Laura married Donald on October 11, 1947. They spent their married life in Royal Oak and have been members of Embury United Methodist Church in Birmingham for 57 years. Laura was also a longtime member of P.E.O.
She enjoyed quilting and needlework, and made all of her grandchildren quilts by hand. She also liked to read, cook, and just take care of her family. Although most of her time was spent at home with family, she did spend about ten years working for the National Bank of Detroit.
While her children were growing up, Laura remained very active in their lives. She was a Girl Scout leader, she taught them to bake, and created meaningful memories of taking them all to Cass Lake on warm summer days. She was also very devoted to her grandchildren and their activities.
Laura and her husband made many friends and cherished their time spent in Sea Grove Beach, FL, where they wintered for 20 years.
She was survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald, and three children; Shirley Johnson (David), Donna Sokoly, and Thomas Glover. She is the devoted grandmother of Katherine, Carrie (Dwight), Shawn, Elizabeth, Andrew, and Alyson, and the great-grandmother of Calvin and Leland.
She was preceded in death by two brothers Wilbur, and Burt, and a sister, Elaine.
Funeral: Embury United Methodist Church, Birmingham, MI.
