Ruth Anthony Eunice was the daughter of Lawrence Anthony and Sarah Ann Norman. She married Jasper V. (Nunez) Eunice on March 1, 1867, a few short years after he return home from the Civil War. Her sister Nancy Anthony had married Jasper's first cousin Coleman Eunice, also buried here at Mt. Pleasant, in 1860. Ruth and Nancy lost a brother William Anthony during the War. A Confederate Grave Marker was placed here at Mt Pleasant for William Anthony in 2009.

Ruth and Jasper had 7 children together. They were:

* George Lawrence Eunice (1868-1905) married Georgia Mary O'Berry
* William Vernon Eunice (1871-1943) married Serena Inman
* Samuel Eunice (1875- 1942) marred 1) Elizabeth Dryden 2) Georgia Stone
* Annie Eunice (1879-1896) never married
* Nancy Beulah Eunice (1881-1910) married Charles Amos Greene
* John Walter Eunice (1884-1933) married Susan Howell
* Rutha Bertha Eunice (1887- 1901) married Henry W. Purvis

Ruth died on Aug. 25, 1920, 11 years after her husband passed away. Four of her children died before her. It is commonly believed that Ruth is buried next to her husband, but the grave is not marked. Plans are under way to place a marker on her grave.
