Thomas Richardson Grinstead, Sr., 84, of Hawkinsville, GA died Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11A.M. Friday, in the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home with Dr. Kelly Pritchett officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Pulaski Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Grinstead was a native of Pulaski County and a member of the Baptist faith. He was a retired Navy career veteran having served in World War 11, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and past President of the VFW. Mr. Grinstead retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Scott Gristead; sons Timmy Grinstead, Richard Grinstead: parents, George and Louise Grinstead: brothers, George E. Grinstead, Ramsey Grinstead, Davis Grinstead, Kenneth Grinstead, Benjamin Grinstead; and sister, Louise Grinstead.

Survivors include a daughter, Lori
Grinstead Sparrow, and son Tom (Sandy) Grinstead, Jr., all of Hawkinsville, GA: daughters-in-law, Lisa Grinstead of Hawkinsville, GA; and Rhonda Grinstead of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Timmy Sparrow, Audie West, Caden West, Justin Grinstead, and Ridge Grinstead, all of Hawkinsville, GA, Jarred Grinstead of Michington, Tiffany Grinstead of Macon, GA, Sloan Grinstead of Hawkinsville, GA., Autumn Grinstead and David Grinstead of Lexington, Kentucky and Aaron Grinstead of California; sisters, Mary Wyl Kingard of Hawkinsville, GA, and Nell Wiggins of Macon, GA; sisters-in-law, Ruth Grinstead and Jane Grinstead, both of Hawkinsville, GA, Catherine Scheivier of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mary (Bill) Williams of DElaware; brother-in-law, Walter (Carol) Scott of Maryland.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P>M> Thursday at Clark Funeral Home.
