Roy E. Hanrahan
LIBERTY TWP. - Roy E. Hanrahan, 89, Rt. 11, Valparaiso, died Friday at Little Company of Mary Health Facility, San Pierre.
Born March 16, 1883 in Liberty Township, he was the son of William and Melna (Hughart) Hanrahan. On Aug. 22, 1907 he married Mable Sanders who preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 1965. On Nov. 11, 1967 he married Lillian Strafford who survives.
A lifelong resident of Liberty Township, he was engaged in farming and was a charter member of the Porter County Farm Bureau, Northern Indiana Coon Hunters Association and Porter County Conservation Club.
Surviving besides his widow are a son, Earl, superintendent at Harold L. Rogers-Lakewood Park; three daughters, Mrs. Leslie (Alice) Sanders and Mrs. Joseph (Maxine) Pfledderer, both of Valparaiso, and Mrs. Jack (Margaret) Hannon, LaPorte; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, LeRoy (Pete) and Carroll, a brother and a sister.
Services will be held at Bartholomew Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Wesley Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Kimball Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Services were conducted this afternoon for Roy E. Hanrahan, 89, Rt. 11, Valparaiso, Liberty Township, at the Bartholomew Funeral home, Valparaiso. Burial was in Kimball cemetery.
Mr. Hanrahan died Friday, May 12, at Little Company of Mary hospital, San Pierre. The Rev. Wesley Johnson, Liberty Bible church, officiated at the funeral.
