Mrs. Melna Hanrahan, age 77 years, a pioneer resident of Liberty township, died Friday afternoon at 2:45 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Pillman, on Campbell Road, in Liberty township, six miles north of Valparaiso. She had been ill of pneumonia for the last two weeks.
Mrs. Hanrahan was born in Liberty township, Porter county, on Dec. 13, 1858, a daughter of Arthur and Lydia Ophelia (Bull) Hughart, and had lived all her life in Liberty township.
In 1877, she was united in marriage to William Hanrahan, who preceded her in death twenty-nine years ago.
Surviving are three children, Arthur A. and Roy E. Hanrahan, and one daughter, Mrs. Edward Pillman all of Liberty township, and numerous grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Pillman home, conducted by Rev. Robert L. Ryerse, pastor of the Baptist church of this city. Burial will be in Kimball cemetery, in Liberty township.
Friends may call at the home from seven o'clock this evening until time of the services.

Memorial services for Mrs. Melna Hanrahan were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Pillman, in Liberty township, conducted by Rev. Robert L. Ryerse, pastor of the Valparaiso Baptist church. There was a large attendance of relatives and friends. Mrs. H. W. Hock sung two selections.
Pallbearers were Wallace, Leroy, William and Earl Hanrahan, Carl Berndt and Lonnie Rosenberger. Burial was in Kimball cemetery.
