OBITUARY: William B. Godette, Jr. of Hot Springs, Arkansas, formerly of Dearborn, passed away from heart failure, April 18, 2002 in Glendale, AZ. Born in Springwells, July 19, 1924, son of William, former Dearborn City Controller, & Ethel (Dawson) Godette. He graduated in 1943 from Fordson High School and served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater (CBI), earning 2 Bronze Stars. In 1948 he married Patricia J. Rae, daughter of Walter and Rosemary (Mills) Rae of Dearborn. He retired from Hubbell, Roth, and Clark, Inc. Consulting Engineering, Bloomfield Hills after 26 years of service and retired to Hot Springs, Arkansas in 1990. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and an active member of the Razorback Basha (Arkansas) serving as Commander from 1995-1996. Survived by wife, Patricia, Hot Springs, AR, daughters, Yvonne (James) Weber, Huntington Beach, CA, Michelle (William) Kolbe, Glendale, AZ and Renee (Michael) Hazarian, San Jose, CA; son, William B. (Tina) Godette III, Naples, FL; 9 grandchildren; 3 nieces and 6 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl (Lois Erickson); half brother Arthur (Helen) Comstock. Private family services and cremation have been held. Ashes will be interred in the Rose Garden at Christ Episcopal Church, Dearborn, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Altar Guild of Christ Episcopal Church, 120 N. Military, Dearborn, MI 48128.
