Bernie D. Benton, 39-year-old Hockerville ex-service man and resident there since 1919, died at his home there at 3:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon. He was employed as a miner.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Martha Benton; two children, Billy and Evalyn of the home; two brothers, Dick and Frank of Baxter Springs; four sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Stittler, Mrs. George Blaine, Mrs. George Howard of Lebanon, Mo., and Mrs. Glenn Sawyer of Houston, Tex. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Bernie (Sleepie) Benton, 40 years old, who died at his home in Hockerville, Okla., Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Christian church in Hockerville. The Reverend Jones of Baxter Springs will officiate and burial will be in the Baxter cemetery with military rites. Durnil Funeral home is in charge.
