He was the husband of Ruth E. Braungard Terry. On September 6th, they observed their 60th wedding anniversary. Phil served with the Air Service Group in the U.S. Army during WWII. A member of the Maytown Reformed United Church Of Christ, he served as a Deacon and Financial Secretary. Phil's passion in life was life learning, as he had an innate ability to learn many technical and trade skills, applying them to daily living. He had a passion for Big Band music, especially Sammy Kaye. Following retirement, Phil became active with SPERDVAC: The Society to preserve and encourage radio, drama, variety, and comedy. The national group shares old time radio programs among their members.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Karen L. Terry-Steckbeck, wife of Peter Steckbeck of Manheim, and a brother, George Raymond, husband of Flora Terry of Lancaster. He is preceded in death by his sister, Sara E. Austin, and two brothers, Edward K. Jr. and Charles C. Terry.
Private services will be at the convenience of the family with Interment in Manheim Fairview Cemetery, Penn Township.
