Wednesday night at his home in Bridge street occurred the death of George H. Travis, aged 74 years. Mr. Travis was born at Hyde Park, but had lived most of his life in the house where he died, coming to Cleveland with his parents when a small lad. For many years Mr. Travis was associated with his father and brother in the meat business in Cleveland. He was appointed a state game protector in 1909, having served several years previous as a special protector. He retired from the service in 1931. His work gave him a wide acquaintance through this and the northern part of the state. Mr. Travis is survived by one sister, Mrs. Marion Morenus, of Cleveland. Funeral services were held in St. James Episcopal church Saturday afternoon, the rector, Rev. George H. MacNish, officiating. Burial was in the Cleveland cemetery.

Bearers at the funeral of George H. Travis were Eugene Dawley, Frank Best, W. M. Gallagher, Robert Landgraff, U.J. Klix and Bernard Delahunt.
