Katherine J. Pierce, 88,a homemaker, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2011 at Northeast Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo. Visitation is Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, 11:00--1:00 at Bethany Baptist Church on Eden Midway Road, Yazoo County. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m.Tuesday Jan. 3. 2012 at the church with burial in the Shiloh Cemetery, Yazoo County. Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, Ms. is handling the arrangements. Mrs. Pierce was a member of Benton Baptist Church. Survivors include; son, Warren B. Pierce (Shirley) of Saltillo, Ms; daughters, Brenda Sue (James) Hegman of Yazoo City and Brenda Pierce Sanford of Dacula, Ga.; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ann Burns of Benton; brothers, James Johnston (Hazel) of Yazoo City, and Fredrick Johnston of Yazoo City. She is preceded in death by sisters, Lena Hood and Lois Reeves; brothers, Paul Wayne Johnston and Hurbert Henry Johnston; daughter, Rebecca Dixon and granddaughter, Rhonda Edwards Bingham.
