Mrs. Artie Cox, aged 29 years, died at her home at Beaver Ridge. Mrs. Cox had been in failing health for some time, but her condition grew really serious about two days ago. She is survived by her husband, Horace Cox, and two sons, Frank and John.
Interment will be in the Cox cemetery, near Edgemoore. The funeral will be conducted Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock by Esq. James Jones.

There is strong evidence that the grave marker has been inscribed with the wrong date of birth and date of death.
Specifically:
- Tennessee Death Certificate shows Date of Birth as 16 Feb 1887.
- Tennessee Death certificate shows Date of Death was 3 January 1917.
- 1900 US census indicates she is born in February 1887
