He was born August 4, 1932 in Bismarck, ND, a son of the late George D. and Ila W. Clark Baker. Mr. Baker was a retired construction worker. He was employed by Everson Construction and Opp Construction.
He married Janice Gerszewski in Grand Forks, ND on November 22, 1985. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army. He attended Sharon Lutheran Church in Grand Forks and was a member of the American Legion at Manvel, ND and Waynesburg, PA.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra (Challen) Matthews of Waynesburg and Vickie L. Baker of Grand Forks, ND; two grandchildren, Shawn D. Matthews of Maryland and Melody Matthews of Waynesburg; one sister Hazel of Hawaii; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Gerszewski Baker, on October 28, 1999 and two brothers, Bud and Bob Baker.
Military Honors conducted by the East Grand Forks VFW #3817 and American Legion #157.
