He worked for Diamond Chain in Maintenance for 36 years, retiring in 1988. He was in the U.S. Marine Corp where he served two terms in WWII. He was a member of the American Legion Post #64.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; sons, Maurice Russell and Fred Russell; and daughter, Stella Crawford.
He is survived by his son, William Russell; brothers, George Messmore of Michigan, and Herman Messmore of New York; as well as a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren
