H C Meek 61 died at his home @ 353 21st Ave, Longview, last night following a short illness. Death came @ 8:10. The deceased was employed @ the Longview-Columbia river bridge @ the time of his death. He came to Longview on March 26 1924 and was employed as sexton @ the community church until a year ago. He was the son of James and Mary Meek, being born on Sep 6 1865 in Spencer, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University with honors and attended the Indiana School of Medicine. He taught school and practiced medicine in the west for 12 years. He married Maude Lee Swearingin on April 5 1911, in Miles City, MT. Survivors are the widow, four sons, James, Edmund, Charles and H C Jr, and one daughter, Mary. 3 sisters, Mary J Meek of Millings Mt, Mrs Lynn Boyd of New Castle, Indiana and Mrs Willis Hickam of Spencer, IN and a Brother, Charles Meek of Houston, TX also survive. Funeral services will be held @ 2:30 Tuesday afternoon from the Longview Community church. Interment will be in the Longview Memorial park. The Smith funeral home is in Charge.
