Darlene M. Wegerer, 60, Medford, town of Greenwood, died at noon Sunday at Memorial Nursing Home of Taylor County, Medford, where she had resided for the last six weeks. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Wittlesey, with the Rev. Linus Evers officiating. Burial will be in St Ann's Catholic Cemetery, town of Greenwood, Taylor County. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law, Ed Bohte, Dave Shadrick, Bob and Robin Dassow, Jay Viergutz, John Krueger and John Faber. Visitation will be at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, from 4-9 p.m. today with a prayer vigil service at 7:30 tonight.

She was born Dec. 18, 1930, in the town of Chelsea, Taylor County, to Lester and Rose (Reinke) Leischer. She attended town of Chelsea schools. She was married to Earl H. Wegerer July 30, 1949, in Unity. She farmed in the town of Greenwood for many years until ill health forced her retirement recently. She also worked as a housewife and mother. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband; five sons, Dwight of Catawba, Orin, Kenneth and Neil, all of Medford, and Dennis of Omro; seven daughters, Mrs. Ed (Candace) Bohte of Merrill and Mrs. Dave (Shiela) Shadrick, Mrs. Bob (Gail) Dassow, Mrs. Jay (Valerie) Viergutz, Mrs. Robin (Jeany) Dassow, Mrs. John (Rita) Krueger and Mrs. John (Jill) Faber, all of Medford; one sister, Mrs. David (Doris) Ovans of Janesville; one half sister, Mrs. Thomas (Lesona) TaiL one brother, Mervel Leischer of Union Grove; one stepbrother, Wayne Leischer of Colorado; and 23 grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Wesley and Bethel Leischer.
