" AGED RESIDENT DIES SUDDENLY AT HIS HOME
Daniel Mohnkern, Veteran rig Builder and Carpenter, is Dead
WAS IN GOOD HEALTH
While talking to his daughter, Mrs. Ida Beal, at the home of his son, J. Archie Mohnkern, 140 Plum st., shortly after 10 o'clock Saturday night, Daniel Miller Mohnkern, aged 84 [?] years, slipped from his chair and expired. The deceased had been in good health and had just returned from visiting the home of his son, Ruel, who returned Saturday evening from a hunting trip in Canada. He made his home with his son Archie and had been home about 10 minutes when his death occurred. The deceased was born at Horse Creek July 3, 1840, a son of the late Henry and Mary Winger Mohnkern. For over half a century Mr. Mohnkern followed the oil fields, being a rig building contractor. Of ___ years he followed the trade of carpenter. The deceased was a member of the Bethel M.E. church. The following children survive: J. Archie, Charles, Daniel Jr., R.F., Ruel E., and R.M. Mohnkern of Oil City; Mrs. Westy Stantz of Lima, Ohio; Mrs. Tillie Bell [or Ball] of Cooperstown and Mrs. Ida Beal of Oil City. One brother, G.A. Mohnkern of President road, 39 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services in his memory will be held at the home of his son, 140 Plum st. Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. McCurdy, pastor of the Bethel M.E. church, officiating. Interment will be in the Grove Hill cemetery."
