ORVILLE H. SHAWN
Memorial services for Orville H. Shawn, 79 of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Hanson officiating.
Mr. Shawn died July 10, 2001, in Athens.
He was born Dec 30, 1921, in Santa Fe, Okla, to Oscar Earl (Ellis) and Georgia Lockby (Lockaby) Shawn.
Mr. Shawn lived in Athens since 1972. He was a member of Watson Road Church of Christ. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He retired as a mechanic for General Motors.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Shawn of Athens; sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Wynetta Shawn of Cayuga and Richard and Linda Shawn of Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Shiela Shawn and Don Mankin of Tyler and Cheryle and Don Davis of Chicago, Ill.; brother Curtis Shawn of Duncan, Okla., Donald Shawn of Norman, Okla, and Buford Shawn of Wilson, Okla.; sisters, Fay Eversole of Antlers, Okla., and Nora Cockrell of Comanche, Okla.; four grandchildren; and numberous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noonn Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorials may be made to Walton Road Church of Christ Building Fund, 117 Carroll Dr., Athens, TX 75751, Attn: Pam Pugh.
