Homer A. Mann

Services were held April 8 from Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Homer A. Mann of North Hampton Drive. The Rev. Harmon Tillman officiated.

Mann, 63, died April 6 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. A native of Carthage, he lived most of his life in Jackson. He was a graduate of Central High School and also received his master's degree from Mississippi State University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marines. He was also a member of Broadmeadow United Methodist Church, Mississippi State Alumni Association where he was past president of the Hinds Chapter. He was also a member of the Bulldog Club, the Jackson Touchdown Club, Sales and Marketing Club and various business clubs.

Survivors include his wife, Lee Mann of Jackson; daughters, Julia Boyd of Madison, Mary Richardson of Jackson; son, Steve Mann of Hawaii; two grandchildren; mother, Julia Pollard Head of Baton Rouge, La. and a half brother, Colvin Mann of Jackson. Memorials may be made to Broadmeadow United Methodist Church or the Mississippi State Alumni Association.

Pallbearers were Derwood Boyles, Carlton O'Keefe, Charles Rowan, Jesse Greer, Colvin Mann and John Phelps.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton.

Mr. Homer A. Mann, 63, resident of Jackson, died of cardiac arrest Monday, April 6, 1992 at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 8 at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson with graveside services being held at Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton. Bro. Duane Jensen officiated.

A native of Carthage, Mr. Mann was a retired sales executive and longtime resident of Jackson where he graduated from Central High School. He received his master's degree from Mississippi State University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of Broadmeadow United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Mississippi State Alumni Association and served as past-president of the Hinds Chapter. He was a member of the Bulldog Club, the Jackson Touchdown Club and Sales and Marketing Club and various other business clubs.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sadie Lee Mann of Jackson; two daughters, Julia Boyd of Madison and Mary Richardson of Jackson; one son, Steve Mann of Hawaii; his mother, Julia Pollard Head of Baton Rouge; one half-brother. Colvin Mann of Jackson; and two grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Henderson Campbell, Lloyd Campbell, David Campbell, Bruce Moore, Eddie Moore and Donnie Perkins.

Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Jackson was in charge of arrangements.
