Funeral mass for Richard Robert Spooner will be held Thursday, June 5, at 2:00 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Blanding Blvd. with Rev. Fr. Alan Bower officiating. Interment will be at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Mr. Spooner was born November 28, 1940 in Ogdensburg, NY and died Monday June 2, in Jacksonville, where he was a resident for 29 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a charter member of the Confederate Point Civic Association, and served as secretary-treasurer of the Suwannee Hunting Club. He was employed by Conwood Company. He is survived by his wife Margaret; one daughter, Stephanie Satiago (Ron); a grandson Ryan; his mother Beatrice Spooner of Ogdensburg; his mother-inlaw, Verna Cummings of Jacksonville; his brother, Bob Spooner (Martha) of New Orleans, LA; nieces, nephews other relatives, and numerous friends. A vigil service will be held at 7:45 PM Wednesday, June 4, at Sacred Heart with visitation immediately following.
