Thomas Johnson Nesmith is a son of Isaac Nesmith and Nancy Ann Johnson Nesmith. He was born in 1795 in Washington City the District of Columbia, which his father was helping to build (See page 441, Through a Firey Trial). He served in the War of 1812. He served his community as minister of the Methodist Protestant Church, a Justice of the Peace and until the mid 1850's was owner and producer of a horn comb factory in Fayette County. Thomas was father of eight children: William, Ann, Drusilla, John, Dorcas, Phebe, James, and Mary - all of whom were born in the Uniontown area.

Aged 90 years, 10 months, 17 days.
