Wife of John Tyler Cahill 1894-1984
Mrs. John (Lillian D.) Cahill, 96, of the Halls Ridge Road, Princeton, died Tuesday at the Glenwood Park Retirement Village, Glenwood Park. Born at Lerona, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Fannie Belcher Caldwell. She was educated in the Mercer County School System and was a homemaker. She was a Charter Member of the Johnston Chapel Baptist Church in Princeton where she also was the oldest member of the congregation. She had been a resident of the Halls Ridge Road area for more than 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tyler Cahill; one daughter, Ilene Cahill; and by three brothers and four sisters. Survivors: sons. George Tyler Cahill of Roanoke, Va., and Glen J. Cahill and John K. Cahill, both of Princeton; daughters, Mrs. Dena Mandeville and Mrs. Mary Ellen Meadows, both of Princeton; nine grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Johnston Chapel Baptist Church on the Halls Ridge Road in Princeton with the Rev. John King, the Rev. Jimmy Jones and the Rev. Jim Nofsinger officiating. Burial will be at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton and one hour prior to service Thursday, at the church.
