Born April 2, 1930 in Pittsylvania County she was the daughter of the late Fletcher M. Watson and Irene Crawley Watson. Mrs. Doss was predeceased by her husband, Newton Clay Doss; an infant son, Glen Henry Doss; her step-mother, Edna Crawley Watson, two brothers, Calvin Watson and J.W. Watson; three sisters, Evelyn Towler, Agnes Blair and Beulah Davidson. She was a member of New Bethel Church of the Brethren and was a retired employee of Craddock-Terry Shoe Corp. She enjoyed sewing and flower gardening. She is survived by two sons, Alan Doss of Chatham and Philip Doss and wife, Teresa of Hurt; 1 brother, Gordon Ray Watson of Hampton; five sisters, Sally Towler of Gretna, Patsy Ann Rice of Monroe, Elnora Estes of Hampton, Dorothy Yeatts of Gretna and Virginia David of Gretna; four grandchildren, Samantha Doss, Taylor Nicole Doss, Jacob Doss and Jody Rowland.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at New Bethel Church of the Brethren by Rev. Leo Johnson and Mickey Witcher, Minister. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
