ERNST WILSMANN

From Der Nord Westen,03 Nov. 1904:
(From the correspondent in Mishicott, 01 Nov.)
Ernst Wilsmann died suddenly last Wed. evening. The old gentleman,
a well-respected and honored citizen of our town, was hale and
hearty at his work, but that evening went to bed and suffered a
heart attack about midnight. His body was taken to its last rest
from the Lutheran Church Sun. afternoon with a large following,
which demonstrated the esteem in which he was held by his fellow
citizens. He was a few months over 72 yrs. of age and in addition
to his sorrowing widow is survived by 2 daughters and a number of
grandchildren.

Last Thursday Ernst Wilsman, a well known resident of Gibson, died suddenly of apoplexy. The decedent was about fifty years old and had resided in Manitowoc county for the past thirty-four years. Coming to ths county from his native land in 1870, he at once located on a farm in Gibson, where he had remained continuously since.
The deceased is survived by a family of four children, two sons and two daughters. The funeral took place at Mishicot on Sunday.
The deceased was the last of three brothers to be claimed by death within the short period of less than a year. In December, 1903, Charles Wilsman died after a brief illness and a little over two weeks ago John Wilsman passed away, his funeral occurring Sunday, Oct. 23, just a week before the body of Ernst was conveyed to its final resting place. All of the three brothers had been continuous residents of this county from the time they came here from their native country. They were held in high esteem by all who knew them.
