Minnie E. Mckenzie, 97, died Jan. 19 in the in Long Term Care Unit of the Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney.
She was born Oct. 10, 1897 on the family farm southeast of Ogallah to John and Johanna Bergtsen Wahlburg. She married Ralph McKenzie in March 1918. He died in 1964. She was a homemaker and in earlier years she taught school. She was a charter member of the Swedish Lutheran Church south of Ogallah.
She is survived by a son, Glenn of Apache Junction, Ariz.; four daughters, Icis Eisenhour of McCracken, Edna Grate of Wichita, Lois Schwien of WaKeeney and Virgie Renner of St. Paul, Minn.; a brother Alvin Wahlberg of WaKeeney; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 11 great great grandchildren.
The funeral wa Monday morning at the Schmitt Funeral Home in WaKeeney with the Rev. Vernon Snider officiating. Burial was in the Ransom Cemetery.
