Josef Orville Brookshire Jr., 62, formally of Huntsville died Saturday.

Mr. Brookshire was born in Washington, D.C. and was a son of the late Josef Orville, Sr. and Queen Victoria Cunningham Brookshire. An Army veteran, he was awarded the Bronze Star, Air Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross. He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the University of Alabama Association, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and the USC Alumni Association.

A brother, Daniel K. Brookshire, of Columbia, survives him. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Chapel with Rev. Joe Estes officiating and burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
