Albert A. Friddles died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. R. Scarborough, this city, on October 5, after a lingering illness, and was buried at the Grove cemetery, near Bartlett, Oregon.

Albert Ananias Friddles was born in North Carolina May 22, 1854, and lived with his parents to Baughtville, (actually Vaughtsville) TN at an early age. There he grew to young manhood and married Miss Cordelia Baught (actually Vaught) 43 years ago.

In the spring of 1887, the subject of this sketch came to Garfield county with some other emigrants from Tennessee. R. W. G. ? of this county was with Mr. Friddles, having come from the same place in the south.

There were born six children to Mr. and Mrs. Friddles, four of whom survive. Arthur Friddles, a son, well known in Pomeroy and remembered for having operated the first automobile repair shop here, died a few years ago, and an infant daughter died when about a year old. Mrs. Friddles died in 1901.

The four surviving children of deceased are: Mrs. Elva Scarbrough, Pomeroy, Mrs. Bessie Ray, Joseph and Robert Friddles, all of Grouse Flat, Oregon.

The body of the deceased was taken to Bartlett where burial was made October 7th beside the body of his wife. Edward Moore of Grouse, conducting the services. The remains were charge of C.M. Vassar until removed to Grouse.

The pall bearers were: Charlie Davis, Ray Knight, Leslie Harding, Emory Lyons, Evert Richmond and Arthur Courtney all of Grouse Flat.
