Sallie Sams Smith was the daughter of James Sams and Charlotte Ware and was the wife of the George Smith who was son of Rev. John Smith and his wife Elizabeth Spears. Most of this family was buried originally in Willis Bottom but moved to St. John's when Dale Hollow Dam was impounded.
