Coalport - Funeral services for Ray Carl Kruis, 62, of Roseland,Coalport, R.D. who died Thursday, June 27, 2002 at 7:30 pm at Altoona Hospital will be held Monday at 11:00 am, at Roseland Christian Fellowship Church, with Pastor Jon "Sandy" Hommer officiating. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Madera, and on Monday from 9-11 am at the church. Born July 8, 1939, in Utahville, Coalport R.D., he was a son of the late Clyde F. Kruis and Myrtle C. (Everhart) Kruis. Mr. Kruis was a truck driver and was employed by Clearfield Cheese for 21 years. He retired from Jones Express in 1996. He drove truck for 32 years without an accident.He was an Army veteran, having served from 1958 to 1961. On June 17, 1961, at Pleasant Hill Church, Glasgow, he wed the former Ruth Troxell, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and one daughter, Don Kruis and his wife, Nancy, and Mrs. Richard (Donna "Arlene") Harpster, all of Roseland, and Robert Kruis, and his wife, Lisa, of Blandburg, and nine grandchildren, Amber, Dawn, Marie, Charlie, Crystal, Jessica, Chad, Tiffany, Travis, and Willow Rae. He is also survived by these brothers and sisters, Clyde Kruis of Glasgow, Martha Singer of McVeytown and Nancy Neyman of Coalport; and numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle, and two brothers, Donald and Fred. Memorial contributions may be made to Roseland Christian Fellowship Church, c/o Pastor Jon Hommer, 1053 Skyline Drive, Fallentimber, PA 16639.
