Born May 13, 1920, in Brighton Township, a son of the late Walter and June (Anderson) Goettman, he was a graduate of Beaver High School and attended Robert Morris University. Leonard was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army 2nd Armored Division and served in limited service as a military police after an injury. He was a self employed auto body mechanic and later retired as an assembler at F.B. Leopold Inc., Zelienople.
Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Edna (Funkhouser) Goettman; two stepsons, Kenneth Alexander and his wife, Linda, North Sewickley Township, and Randall Alexander and his wife, Kim, Beaver Falls; six grandchildren, James Lee Alexander and his wife, Lisa, Las Vegas, NV; Scott Alexander and his wife, Erin, Centreville, VA; Ryan and Matthew Alexander, Fallston; Christopher Alexander, Rochester, and Amber Alexander Anderson and her husband, Jeff, Rochester; a great-grandson, Logan James Alexander, Las Vegas; a niece, Rosemary DeArment, and a nephew, Raymond Veasey, Brighton Township, and several other relatives. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Timothy Alexander, and two sisters, Rosemary DeArment and Elva Goettman.
Private interment will follow in Grove Cemetery, New Brighton.
