Anita was born to the late Perry S. and Hazel Parlier-Hanks. She attended schools in Littlefield, Texas, and graduated in 1936. She worked as a riverter for Consolidated Aircraft Factory in San Diego, Calif., from 1943-1945. During World War II, she was part of a group of women nicknamed "Rosie the Riveter". She also worked as a bookkeeper in Littlefield, Texas, and later moved to Waco and worked about 30 years as a bookkeeper for Jerry Johnson and Fred Becker. She accepted the Lord in 1934 at the age of 14. She was a teacher in the Sunday school and Training Union in churches in Littlefield and Waco for many years. She was faithful to her Lord and family. She was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church since 1964.
Anita was preceded in death by her husband, JD Jordan; brother, Johnny Hanks; sister, Kathryn Hornecker; and brother-in-law, Tom Hornecker.
She is survived by daughter, Joan Jordan, of California; son, Johnny Jordan and wife, Janice, of Waco; brothers, Lester Hanks and wife, Bessie Lee, of Hurst, and Billie Hanks and wife, Marvis, of Albuquerque, N.M.; sister, Mary and husband, Dean, of Herford; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
