The funeral for Vincent B. McCoy will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester, with the Rev. Norman W. Wahl officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Mr. McCoy, 27, of Rochester, died Thursday (Sept. 11, 2008) at Saint Marys Hospital, of complications from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Vincent Bayne McCoy was born Sept. 25, 1980, in Rochester. He was a 1999 graduate of Mayo High School and attended Rochester Community & Technical College, majoring in history and computer science. He loved computers and developed Web pages. He also enjoyed video games and following sports.

He is survived by his mother, Terri McCoy of Rochester; his maternal grandmother, Marlys Jacobson of Rochester; and many close relatives. He was preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandfather, O. K. Jacobson; and his paternal grandparents.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, and an hour before the service Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church.
