He was married for 51 years to the late Rachel Jean Nickey Morgenthaler of Carlisle, PA and is survived by his sister and brother in-law, Carol Morgenthaler Kehler and Ronald Kehler of Berwyn, PA; cousins, Trema Kindler Berry and E.D.H. Berry of Austin, TX, Frederick Morgenthaler of Harrisburg, PA; his children, Lee and Andrea Morgenthaler and of Houston, TX, Diane Morgenthaler of Madison, WI, Ellen Morgenthaler and Gifford Noland of Marietta, OH, and Charles Morgenthaler, Jr. of Ocean City, MD; and by his grandchildren, Nicole Morgenthaler of Brooklyn NY, Scott Morgenthaler of Houston TX, and Isaac Noland of Marietta OH.
A graduate and active alumnus of Lafayette College, class of 1950, Skip served in the United States Army and had a distinguished professional career as a licensed civil engineer, retiring from Johnson Mirmiran & Thompson. He was a lifetime member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, active in the Waltherson Improvement Association, served on the PTA board of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, and a long time member of the Masons lodge of St. Ignace, MI.
We all pray that in the next life he will lose the wicked slice that plagued his golf game in this one. He was an avid sailor and will be missed by his many sailing companions.
He will be laid to rest in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle PA.
