Mrs. Newton was a retired nurse from Southeastern Regional Medical Center and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Cornelius Kittrell, and her husband, Nadie T. Newton.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Floyd Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Head and Dr. Russell Cherry officiating.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Thomas Newton of Greenville; daughter, Linda Newton Moeschl, of Winterville; two brothers, Dr. John Kittrell of Miami, Fla., and Billy Kittrell of Henderson; sisters, Virginia Gearheart of Norfolk, Va., Florine Dement and Barbara McGhinnis, both of Oxford; one grandson, Sean Gregory Moeschl of Winterville.
