From the newspaper "Daily Mail",
Hagerstown, Md., dated July 16, 1900:

MR. MYERS IS DEAD
The Proprietor of the Indian Springs Hotel.

Mr. Jno. W. Myers, of Indian Spring, died at the hotel of that place, Saturday at 4:30 o'clock p.m., aged 61 years, from heart failure, caused by rheumatism. He is survived by his wife, Eleanora, his sons, Isaiah, of Indian Springs, and Samuel, at home. Also these daughters: Mrs. Wm. Dougherty, Mrs. Wm. Byers, of Martinsburg; Bessie and Cora at home; sisters, Mrs. Kate Little, Martinsburg, and Mrs. John Byers, Bowman, Pa.

Funeral today at Lutheran church, at Clearspring, at 2 o'clock; services by Rev. E. H. Jones.

The deceased served in the Civil War in Capt. Fiery's Cavalry, Co. B, First Maryland Regiment, P. H. B. Mr. Myers was a farmer, but for the past two years had kept the Indian Spring Hotel.
