Raynor "Ray" Reynolds, 83, of Woodridge St., Marquette, Michigan, died at his home surrounded by his family and his pets.
Mr. Reynolds was born on February 21, 1920, at Pippa Passes, Kentucky, a son of Tilden and Rosa Belle (Short) Reynolds. He moved to Marquette as a recruiter for the U.S. Army in 1940. It was there that he met the former Alice "Polly" Pearson and became married to her on September 17, 1945 after the war.
Ray worked at various jobs until he and Polly purchased Woodridge Grocery in the 1970's and together they ran the store until their retirement.
Ray loved going to Hardee's for breakfast, spending time with his children and grandchildren, feeding the wildlife in his yard, gardening and watching television with his cat and dog.
He was survived by five children, Rose A. Charboneau of Negaunee, Raynor (Michelle) Reynolds of Marquette, Cathy Beaudry and her friend, Carl of St. Clair Shores, MI, Gregory S. (Cheryl) Reynolds and Bryan (Becky) Reynolds, both of Marquette; 11 grandchildren, Edward "Boomer", Kate, Karie, Kristie, Todd, Pam, Jimmer, Jake, Bryan, Jr., Jon and Tom; 11 great grandchildren, Alexandra, Chelsie, Kayla, Kalob, Kyle, Alyssa, Connor, Aubrey, Johvi, Landis and Hannah; a sister-in-law, Evelyn DeYonke of Marquette; also several nieces and nephews and his beloved pets, Dandy, Cry Baby, Petey, and all his wildlife friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Alice "Polly" Reynolds in 2002 and several brothers and sisters.
