Born in Vance on November 29, 1911 of Scot-Irish descent, she was loyal to family, independent, quiet, self reliant, and a Christian. She believed in hard work and perseverance. Visiting family and square dancing were her favorite social activities. For many years she enjoyed assisting the sick as a hospital sitter. During her last years, she received similar assistance from her niece, Faye, and the wonderful staff at Heritage Health nursing home.
