Eunice Griffin (née Bell) passed away at age 96 on Sept. 7, 2008, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. She was the mother of James A. Tambling and Helen R. Dahlstrom (née Tambling).
She leaves two children, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews in the area.
Born in Vance on November 29, 1911 of Scot-Irish descent, she was loyal to family, independent, quiet, self reliant, and a Christian. She believed in hard work and perseverance. Visiting family and square dancing were her favorite social activities. For many years she enjoyed assisting the sick as a hospital sitter. During her last years, she received similar assistance from her niece, Faye, and the wonderful staff at Heritage Health nursing home.
