The following is an excerpt of correspondence between Judith F. Russell and I [Melissa Watson Padilla Johnson], regarding the parentage of Sarah Walker McCarty:
I am writing because you are probably not aware of the info in the Samuel Walker, Jr., Family Bible, the images of which were shared with a group of Walker researchers in 2005 as we prepared a family outline for publication.

The Bible records the birth and death of Sarah Walker, daughter of Samuel Walker and Martha Jefferson Bell as born in 1777 and died in 1813, the wife of Cheney Farrow of Spartanburg and Edgefield SC.

This of course is at odds with the memorial stone shown on your findagrave website, so I wanted you to be aware that there are many researchers who find a difficulty in the link of the daughter of Samuel and Martha Jefferson Walker to the McCartney family. [note: should read "McCarty" not "McCartney"]

It is perhaps a good possibility to investigate that she was, rather, the daughter of Ezekiel Walker, brother of Francis Walker. Ezekiel had 4 or 5 females in his early census records who married before the 1850 census and there were other links between these families, who were neighbors in their part of Edgefield County.
