Funeral of Mrs. Thompson

Was attended by large congregation at Kavanaugh Church.

The funeral of Mrs. R.D. Thompson was held in Kavanaugh Methodist Church which was filled with sympathizing friends of the family.

The services were impressive and solemn. After a hymn by the choir, Rev. A.A. Duncan offered an appropriate and affecting prayer. Rev. J.F. Pierce pastor of Kavanaugh Church then made a splendid address and tribute to the memory of the deceased. He spoke of her intellectual attainments as being of the highest class of culture, and told of her love for the church and her earnest and active work for the Master, and her sweet home life and the example she left for her children to imitate.

The address was a fitting tribute to one who richly deserved every word of it.

The floral offerings were abundant and beautiful and attested the loving remembrance of friends.

After the services in the church a long procession accompanied the remains to East Mount where she was tenderly laid to her long rest.
