He was born on August 8, 1919, in Ollie Mont., to Everett Plummer and Stella (Head) Plummer, and graduated from high school in Ollie.
He served in the USMC from 1942 to 1946 fighting in WWII in the South Pacific. He also spent time in the military hospital in New Zealand.
He worked many years for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail sorter on the train and later in the post office in Bozeman, Mont.
After retirement from the Postal Service he worked several jobs using his unique, innovative ability as a carpenter and repairman.
He always amazed his family with what he could build out of what seemed to be something useless.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and thoroughly enjoyed the large family gatherings.
He was always there to help whenever his daughter and son-in-law or grandchildren needed it.
In later years he challenged the daily crossword puzzle in the newspaper and watched a lot of sports on television.
He was also always up for a game of cards.
He is survived by his daughter, Stella 'Ty' Nelson and son-in-law of Casper; two stepdaughters in Montana; brother, Jim Plummer and wife of Townsend Mont., brother, Pat of Beach, N.D.; and sister Bonnie Jacke and husband of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews as well as grand nieces and nephews that he was very close with.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elliott, Gus and Cecil; sister, Gloria Smeltzer, and infant son, Al Everett.
Burial will follow at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
