JASON KEITH TERRY was born December 19, 1979, at University Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK; to Annetta "Netta" Camila Mason and Melvin "Keith" Terry.
Jason lived in the OKC Metro area all of his life. He lived with Michael Frow in the "mansion" on NW 17th after High School, with his dad and poppy at SW 53rd, in mom's house at Texoma Drive with Eric, shared an apartment with Jud while he was going to college in Edmond, lived in an apartment in Mustang with Eric and Dustin for a year, and his last 2 months with mom, Mike and Mandy in Yukon in the house he planned to buy.
Jason had a sister, Amanda Camille Tyson, "sissy" six years younger, that he adored from the beginning, having waited so long to get a brother or sister; and a brother, Michael Mason Norvell, "Mikey" ten years younger, who he was a father figure, brother and best friend to.
Jason attended Coolidge Elementary, Capitol Hill Fifth Year Center, and Jefferson Middle School in South Oklahoma City. He then attended the Charter Class of highly recruited students at Classen School of Advanced Studies 9th-12th grade, where he was a part of the Interbaccalaureate Program and an Honor Student.
Jason was a very loved and blessed child with many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends that shared in his childhood. He had two sets of adoring grandparents, MaMaw & Poppy and Granny & PawPaw, all preceding him in death. He went camping with his dad, sometimes taking a friend, from Father's Day to his dad's birthday, July 22, almost every summer until it was more fun to stay in town. Jason loved to play video games always, and competitive card games, chess, academic competitions, and to draw cartoon and fiction characters with caption; and played YMCA basketball from the ages of 9-17 yo.
In High School Jason was a National Honor Society member for four years and represented Classen SAS in the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC as a Junior. He graduated with honors and 35 college hours he had earned through the Interbaccalaureate Program and summer classes, in May 1998. Jason worked at Big Ed's as soon as he could drive and babysat with and transported his younger brother and sister whenever mom needed help while he was in High School.
Jason attended the University of Oklahoma as a Freshman Chemical Engineering major, where he also enjoyed kick boxing and scuba diving; and took a 10 day back packing tour in Europe with good friend Michael Frow just out of high school. He later attended the Univ of Central OK in Edmond and South OKC Comm College; and dated Morgan, the love of his life, for 3 years.
Jason was never married and had no children. He was a great big brother to Mandy and Mike, and was quite fond of Feona, his good friends Frow and Siobhan's daughter, and his cousin Greg's little boy, Connor; though he probably would not have admitted it. He loved to cook and eat and relax with good friends. He worked at Big Ed's all through high school, at Zio's and Earl's Rib Palace after high school; and was a poker dealer at New Castle Casino the two years before he passed. Jason planned, wanted and talked about going back to school always; but took several years to just work and take care of and be available to his poppy, who preceeded him in death March 2004, and his dad, Keith, who proceeded him in death July 2006. He loved both of these men very much and was a good and faithful son and grandson. He played in the American Pool Association with his dad from the time he was 18; going to Nationals in Vegas many times.
Jason was a brilliant, deep thinking , caring and compassionate young man which he tried not to show; and would do anything for his friends and family. He tried forever to find the balance of working, going to college, taking care of his body and spending time with everyone he cared about. He was logical, concrete, always thinking about how and why things worked; and also had a softer side with a keen perception about why other people did or didn't do things, and the most accepting and forgiving spirit.
Jason drowned on the North side of Lake Overholster Dam when he missed a curve and went into the lake shortly after midnight on August 22, 2007, on his way home from pool league.
I will always remember him for his beautiful smile and the fleeting look of wonder, bewilderment and innocense that still flashed across his face occasionally at 27 years old.
Thank you so much to whoever put the cross up at the Lake after Jason's accident, and to "all" of his friends, family, and co-workers, and to mom, Mandy, and Mike's friends that have been and continue to be so loving and supportive. A special thanks to my friend John who has helped me day after day with Jason's house on 50th and listened to me talk, rant, rave and cry about my son these past four months.

JANUARY 1, 2008

Jason was an intelligent, handsome, healthy, hard working young man with future plans; often helping someone else or counseling with them about their problems and concerns.
Jason died August 22, 2007 @ 12;39 am, on his way home from his regular Tuesday night pool league. He had been with friends, was 5 miles from home; and had a 0.23 blood alcohol level. The last thing he had said to me on August 21 was "see ya later mom"; and I'm sure we will.
Please don't drink and drive; and "try" to stop your friends if they do.
